I've done some more work on the lighting and texturing but am going to have to leave there for a while. I hope to do some more renders and perhaps a background next time I get a break between projects.
My Ferrari Dino model is what got me started modelling cars. I have had so much interest in this model, both from admirers of the real thing and people wanting to buy the mesh. It has even been used on a light entertainment quiz show here in the UK, so I just had to include it.

After a couple of years building 75-100k polygon cars for Xbox 360 racing games, it came as a shock when a client asked me to build some 5000 poly vehicles. This Dodge Challenger is a test car that I made to re-familiarise myself with low poly work. The car with interior and wheels weighs in at 5200 triangles.

I read a 3D World magazine tutorial on studio lighting for cars, which gave me a few ideas for things to try. Although the image is far from perfect, I still think it is progress in the right direction and worth including in my portfolio (for now). Comments and crits always welcome.

The Porsche was originally intended to be a next-gen game detail level model, but as soon as I started to render it, I couldn't resist hitting the subdivide key!

.
It started life as a joint college project by myself and fellow student, Stefan Trofan back in 1995! We modelled the building from the original architects drawings in 3D Studio V4, but never properly finished it as the rendering times were too long.
.
The model still holds up pretty well, considering its age. I spent a couple of days adding some final touches, retexturing and rendering it in Modo.
